Public Relations - Social Entrepreneur
Marty Mulcahey, a Chicago resident, is an experienced public affairs and multi-property facility management professional specializing in government relations and facility management. Marty is experienced in campaign strategy, business development and educational management.
He is employed by SMS Assist, a Chicago based multi-property facility and maintenance management company serving national clients across the business sector. SMS Assist is run by CEO Mike Rothman with financial investment by Pritzker Group Venture Capital.
Prior to SMS Assist, Mulcahey was employed by Dr. Mike Bakalis, President and CEO of American Quality Schools a Chicago based educational management organization (EMO). American Quality Schools manages public charter schools throughout the mid-west.
Mulcahey proudly served Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White for ten years before running as a candidate for Illinois State Senate from his home town in Northwest Illinois.
As a candidate for the Illinois State Senate in 2008, Marty ran an aggressive and issue oriented campaign centered on economic development and public infrastructure improvements, receiving the endorsement of the Rockford Register Star and the Freeport Chamber of Commerce.
Mulcahey has been a pioneer contributor to the development of the Upper Mississippi River International Port District. He has made significant contributions to the International Jatropha Foundation and the Haitian National Shipping Company (HANASCO) and has experience in Caribbean relations.
Marty joined the staff of Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan upon graduation from Northern Illinois University working with key legislators on policy development, analysis, public relations and constituent services.
Mulcahey has resided in Madison, Wisconsin while employed by the State Medical Society of Wisconsin and spent six years in Seattle, Washington.
As a volunteer and Board Chair for the Northwest Illinois Chapter of the American Red Cross, Marty secured $200,000 for the purchase of a Red Cross headquarters building and spent three weeks as a Red Cross Volunteer in Biloxi & Gulfport Mississippi immediately following Hurricane Katrina.
Marty is married to Jennifer Mulcahey (Steele). Together the have have three grown children.
